Ausgrid

Ausgrid

Ausgrid is the largest electricity distribution network operator on Australia's east coast, owning and maintaining the poles, wires and substations that carry power across 22,275 square kilometres of Greater Sydney, the Central Coast and the Hunter Valley. Formerly the state-owned EnergyAustralia distribution business, it was partly privatised in 2016 when the New South Wales government sold a majority economic interest to a consortium including IFM Investors and AustralianSuper, retaining the balance. Alongside its regulated network, Ausgrid invests in grid modernisation, community batteries, EV charging infrastructure and transmission development to connect new renewable generation.
