Flock, Inc.

Flock, Inc. was a Californian software company that built the Flock social web browser, released in 2005 and based on Mozilla technology. Founded in 2005 by Bart Decrem and Geoffrey Arone, it was backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Catamount Ventures, Shasta Ventures and Fidelity Ventures, and moved from Palo Alto to Mountain View and then Redwood City. Zynga acquired the company in January 2011 on undisclosed terms and browser support ended that April. The flock.com domain was later taken over by an unrelated team-messaging product, and an unrelated UK insurtech also trades as Flock.
