Lovys

Lovys is a French online insurance broker that sells home, car, pet, smartphone, health and borrower insurance to consumers through a single monthly subscription. It also sells car and home insurance under a second brand, Otherwise. The company was founded in 2017 by the Portuguese entrepreneur João Cardoso, its chief executive, went through the Techstars Paris accelerator that year, and has operations in France and Portugal. In September 2021 it bought Otherwise, a collaborative pet insurer, out of receivership. Lovys raised a €3.3 million seed round in July 2019 from MAIF Avenir, Portugal Ventures and Plug and Play, and a €17 million Series A in January 2021 from Heartcore, NewAlpha and Raise Ventures alongside its existing investors, which it extended in July 2021 with Adevinta Ventures and MS&AD Ventures.
